To ensure effective implementation of waste collection, segregation, processing, and disposal activities in compliance with environmental standards, operational targets, and organizational guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily waste collection, transportation, segregation, and disposal operations.
Ensure segregation of waste at source (wet, dry, hazardous, and recyclable).
Monitor operation of waste processing units such as MRFs, composting plants, shredders, or balers.
Coordinate with site staff, supervisors, drivers, and machine operators for smooth operations.
Ensure compliance with Solid Waste Management Rules and local authority guidelines.
Maintain records related to waste quantity, processing, recycling, and disposal.
Identify operational gaps and suggest improvements for efficiency and cost control.
Conduct site inspections and ensure cleanliness, safety, and hygiene standards.
Coordinate with municipal bodies, vendors, and contractors as required.
Support awareness activities related to waste segregation and cleanliness.
Report daily/weekly performance to management.
Required Skills & Competencies
Basic understanding of solid waste management processes.
Knowledge of waste segregation, recycling, and processing methods.
Ability to manage site-level operations and manpower.
Basic documentation and reporting skills.
Good coordination and communication abilities.
Problem-solving and decision-making at site level.
Educational Qualification
Graduate / Diploma in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or related field
(Freshers with relevant exposure may be considered)
Experience
0-3 years of experience in waste management, sanitation, or environmental projects preferred.
Work Conditions
Field-based role with site visits.
May require working in shifts depending on project needs.
