The Site Engineer / Site In-Charge shall be responsible for the execution, supervision, and management of all site-related activities. The incumbent will ensure that the project is executed in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, and within the stipulated time and budget. The role requires effective coordination between the project team, contractors, and management to ensure smooth progress of work.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Site Execution and Supervision
Supervise day-to-day construction activities at the site as per approved drawings and specifications.
Ensure the availability and efficient utilization of manpower, materials, and machinery.
Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors for timely completion of assigned tasks.
Prepare and maintain daily progress reports (DPR).
2. Measurement and Billing
Record daily work measurements and progress in Powerplay / Excel or other prescribed formats.
Prepare and verify measurement sheets for subcontractor and client billing.
Assist in the preparation of running account (R.A.) bills and final bills.
3. Quality Assurance
Ensure all construction activities adhere to quality and design specifications.
Conduct periodic inspections to maintain workmanship and material quality.
Identify non-conformities and initiate corrective actions promptly.
4. Safety and Compliance
Implement and monitor site safety practices as per company policy.
Ensure all workers and staff comply with safety standards and use appropriate protective equipment.
Report and document any safety incidents or violations immediately.
5. Coordination and Communication
Liaise with project management, design, and procurement teams for drawings, material availability, and work schedules.
Participate in site coordination and review meetings.
Prepare and submit periodic progress reports to management.
6. Documentation and Reporting
Maintain accurate and updated site documentation including DPRs, inspection reports, and material records.
Ensure proper documentation for testing, approvals, and quality checks.
Maintain photographic records of progress and major site activities.
7. Labour Management and Conduct
Supervise and manage site labour to ensure discipline, productivity, and adherence to company policies.
Be accountable for any misconduct, negligence, or intentional violations occurring under his supervision.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and standards.
Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and project tracking tools (e.g., Powerplay).
Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
Sound knowledge of IS codes and relevant construction specifications.
