Job Summary:



We are looking for a

Mechanical Site Engineer

to join our team. The successful candidate will primarily work at the head office on regular production and engineering tasks, but will also be required to visit and manage site-based mechanical operations as needed. The role involves ensuring the efficient installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical systems on-site, while supporting production activities at the head office, ensuring smooth operations and quality control.

Key Responsibilities:On-Site Responsibilities (When Required):



Supervise and manage the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment at the construction site. Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth mechanical operations on-site. Perform site inspections to ensure the mechanical installations meet design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues encountered on-site, providing practical and effective solutions. Ensure adherence to mechanical safety protocols and regulations on-site. Monitor mechanical system performance and conduct testing to validate system functionality. Maintain records of all mechanical work, inspections, and equipment installations. Provide guidance and support to on-site technicians and labor teams. Ensure timely procurement and delivery of mechanical materials and equipment to the site.

Head Office / Production Responsibilities (Primary Focus):



Support the engineering and production teams at the head office by reviewing mechanical system designs and ensuring production processes align with mechanical specifications. Assist in preparing technical documentation, mechanical drawings, and reports related to production activities. Work closely with the production team to ensure that mechanical components and systems meet operational standards. Collaborate with design engineers to modify, optimize, or troubleshoot mechanical systems used in production. Review and monitor the manufacturing of mechanical components to ensure they meet design, quality, and delivery specifications. Liaise with vendors and suppliers to ensure the quality and availability of mechanical parts for production. Support in implementing lean manufacturing and process improvements for mechanical production.

General Responsibilities:



Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and production teams. Assist in the preparation of project proposals, tenders, and cost estimates for mechanical works. Maintain proper documentation of work processes, materials used, and other project-related details. Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and industry standards. Perform regular checks on mechanical systems and equipment to prevent failures or downtime. Provide on-the-job training and mentoring to junior engineers or technicians when required.

Qualifications & Experience:



Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in construction, site engineering, or production roles.

Skills:

Strong understanding of mechanical systems, equipment, and materials. Familiarity with mechanical design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.). Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Proficient in MS Office and engineering-related software. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.

Certifications (Preferred):



Health and Safety Certifications (OSHA, HSE). Any other mechanical engineering certifications (e.g., ASME, ISO certifications).

Working Conditions:



This position requires flexibility to alternate between on-site and office work. Willingness to travel to different project sites as needed. Occasional extended working hours may be required based on project deadlines or site requirements.
