We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Site Engineer to manage and supervise day-to-day on-site construction activities, ensuring all projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and according to design specifications. The ideal candidate will be a key link between the design team and the on-site construction team, addressing technical challenges and ensuring quality standards are met.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Supervision of Works:
Oversee and manage all daily on-site construction activities, including the work of contractors, subcontractors, and labourers, to ensure alignment with project timelines and plans.
Technical Interpretation:
Accurately read, interpret, and implement architectural, structural, and technical drawings/blueprints and specifications on-site.
Quality Control & Assurance:
Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks on materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with project standards, specifications, and local building codes (e.g., performing concrete slump/cube tests).
Health & Safety Compliance:
Enforce all safety protocols and regulations, conduct safety briefings, and ensure all personnel use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain a hazard-free work environment.
Problem-Solving:
Identify and resolve unexpected technical issues, design discrepancies, or on-site problems quickly and effectively to prevent delays and rework.
Documentation & Reporting:
Prepare and maintain accurate site records, including daily progress reports (DPRs), material usage logs, inspection reports, and documentation for any non-conformities.
Coordination & Communication:
Liaise effectively with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and local authorities to ensure smooth workflow, timely material delivery, and necessary approvals.
Resource Management:
Monitor and manage the use of materials, equipment, and labour on site efficiently to avoid waste and control costs.
Cost Management Support:
Assist in preparing estimates for labour and materials and track costs against the project budget.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field
Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience
in a site engineering or site supervision role,
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant safety regulations.
Proficiency in relevant software (e.g.,
AutoCAD
, MS Project, MS Office).
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team coordination skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on construction environment.
