The Site Engineer is responsible for planning, execution, and supervision of construction activities at site. The role ensures that work is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety norms, and project schedules.
Key Responsibilities1. Site Execution & Supervision
Supervise day-to-day construction activities (civil / finishing / MEP as applicable)
Ensure work execution as per approved drawings, BOQ, and specifications
Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors on site
Ensure proper use of materials, manpower, and machinery
2. Drawing & Technical Coordination
Study approved drawings and clarify discrepancies with design team
Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and MEP consultants
Maintain latest approved drawings at site
Assist in preparing shop drawings and method statements
3. Quality Control
Ensure construction quality as per project standards and specifications
Conduct site inspections and quality checks
Report quality issues and ensure corrective actions
Maintain quality inspection checklists and records
4. Planning & Scheduling
Assist Project Manager in daily, weekly, and monthly work planning
Monitor progress against approved schedules
Prepare daily progress reports (DPR)
Identify delays and support recovery planning
5. Measurement & Billing Support
Take site measurements for executed work
Assist in preparation and verification of contractor bills
Maintain measurement books and quantity records
Support quantity take-offs as required
6. Safety & Compliance
Ensure safety procedures and site safety norms are followed
Coordinate toolbox talks and safety briefings
Report unsafe acts and conditions immediately
Ensure compliance with local labour laws and safety regulations
7. Coordination & Communication
Coordinate with PMC, client representatives, and consultants
Attend site meetings and prepare MOM (Minutes of Meeting)
Communicate site requirements to procurement and planning teams
Maintain proper site documentation and records
Required Qualifications
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering (or relevant discipline)
Fresher to 4+ years of site experience (as per role level)
Required Skills
Knowledge of construction methods and materials
Ability to read and interpret drawings
Basic knowledge of quality and safety standards
Measurement and billing understanding
MS Excel, AutoCAD (basic), reporting skills
Good communication and coordination skills
Preferred Experience
Experience in
residential, commercial, hotel, resort, or infrastructure projects
Experience working with
PMC or contractor organizations
