The Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing day-to-day site activities, ensuring that construction work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards within the project timelines. The role involves coordinating between contractors, suppliers, and the head office to ensure smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Site Supervision & Execution
Supervise and monitor construction activities on site.
Ensure that all works are carried out as per drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
Manage labor and subcontractors efficiently.
2. Quality & Safety Compliance
Conduct quality checks on materials and workmanship.
Maintain safety protocols and ensure all workers follow site safety rules.
Coordinate with the Quality Engineer for material testing and quality assurance.
3. Planning & Coordination
Prepare daily progress reports (DPR) and submit to the Project Manager.
Coordinate with architects, consultants, and vendors for timely work progress.
Ensure materials and equipment are available as per site requirements.
4. Measurement & Documentation
Verify site measurements for billing and estimation purposes.
Maintain proper records of site drawings, approvals, and changes.
Update project documentation including checklists, reports, and logs.
5. Problem Solving & Communication
Identify site challenges and propose technical solutions.
Communicate effectively with project teams, vendors, and management.
Ensure smooth handover of completed works.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and construction methods.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office.
Good communication and leadership skills.
Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks.
Knowledge of quality standards and safety procedures.
Qualification & Experience:
Education:
Diploma / B.E / B.Tech in Civil Engineering
Experience:
2-6 years of site execution experience in residential / commercial projects
