Site engineers are integral to construction projects. Working alongside civil engineers, structural engineers, architects and surveyors, they use their technical skills and managerial prowess to make sure that building sites are fit for purpose.

Site Engineer Duties and Responsibilities \xe2\x80\xa2 Inspect facilities and analyze operational data \xe2\x80\xa2 Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards \xe2\x80\xa2 Compile estimates for technical and material requirements for project development \xe2\x80\xa2 Determine and present estimates of operational costs \xe2\x80\xa2 Evaluate operations and processes \xe2\x80\xa2 Suggest process and technical design changes to improve performance and efficiency \xe2\x80\xa2 Implement improvements to designs and processes \xe2\x80\xa2 Test material and structural integrity \xe2\x80\xa2 Research the environmental impact of projects \xe2\x80\xa2 Incorporate eco-friendly and sustainable features into design plans.

Requirements

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in civil or structural engineering, construction, building, or related field \xe2\x80\xa2 State-issued certification or engineering license \xe2\x80\xa2 Considerable experience in a similar position \xe2\x80\xa2 In-depth knowledge of engineering, technology, building, construction, and design \xe2\x80\xa2 Proficient in the use of computer aided design (CAD) software \xe2\x80\xa2 Familiar with scientific analysis software as well as graphics and map creation software \xe2\x80\xa2 Proven track record for managing personnel and material resources \xe2\x80\xa2 Exemplary critical thinking, analytical, and complex problem-solving skills \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong time management and project management skills \xe2\x80\xa2 Active listening and verbal communication skills \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to use the scientific process to solve problems \xe2\x80\xa2 Dedication to learning new concepts and strategies
