Responsibilities
A Site Accountant's key responsibilities often include:
Financial Record Keeping
: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records for the project site, including all expenses, revenues, and transactions.
Budget Management
: Collaborating with project managers to create, monitor, and manage project budgets, tracking actual expenditures against budgeted amounts, and reporting variances.
Accounts Payable and Receivable
: Handling invoice processing, managing supplier and subcontractor payments, and overseeing accounts receivable to ensure timely collections.
Cash Management
: Managing site cash and petty cash, ensuring sufficient funds are available for daily operations and minor emergency purchases.
Payroll
: Processing payroll for on-site staff, including occasional workers, and ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies.
Financial Reporting
: Preparing regular financial reports, such as cash flow statements, expenditure reports, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets for site management and the central finance department.
Cost Control and Analysis
: Analyzing project-related expenses (labor, materials, overhead) to identify cost-saving opportunities and prevent budget overruns.
Compliance and Auditing
: Ensuring all financial activities comply with company policies, accounting principles (e.g., GAAP), and relevant financial regulations. Assisting with internal and external audits.

Qualifications
