Job Description

Job Purpose:

To operate and monitor all parameters of the sinter plant through the control room system (DCS/PLC) efficiently and safely to ensure continuous, stable, and high-quality sinter production in accordance with operational targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate, control, and monitor the sinter plant process through the control room (DCS/PLC system). Maintain stable operation of raw mix feeding, ignition, sintering, and cooling sections. Adjust parameters as per process requirements to achieve optimum output and sinter quality. Coordinate with field operators and maintenance teams for smooth plant operation and quick resolution of issues. Log process data, operational parameters, and any abnormalities in the shift logbook. Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols. Support preventive maintenance activities by providing necessary process data and observations. Assist in troubleshooting plant upsets and process deviations. Monitor energy consumption, raw material usage, and ensure operational efficiency. Report any major equipment or process abnormalities to the Shift In-charge immediately.

Qualification:

Diploma / ITI in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience:

2 to 5 years of experience in Sinter Plant operations, preferably as a DCS/Control Room Operator in an integrated steel plant.

Skills and Competencies:

Knowledge of sinter plant process and equipment operation. Hands-on experience with DCS/PLC systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good communication and coordination abilities. Awareness of safety, environment, and quality standards in steel plant operations.
