The Opportunity:
UST is seeking a Simics Validation Lead to drive functional and integration-level validation for virtual platforms using Simics. The candidate will lead a team validating complex SoC/IP models, ensuring alignment with architectural specifications, and enabling pre-silicon development and firmware bring-up. Key
Responsibilities:
xc2xb7 Lead validation of virtual platforms developed using Simics, focusing on functional accuracy and integration fidelity
xc2xb7 Develop and execute validation plans, test cases, and regression suites for SoC/IP Simics models
xc2xb7 Collaborate with model developers, architects, and firmware teams to define and track validation coverage
xc2xb7 Perform debug and root cause analysis for simulation mismatches and functional failures
xc2xb7 Automate validation flows using scripting languages (Python, Bash) and integrate into CI pipelines
xc2xb7 Maintain test repositories, logs, reports, and dashboards
xc2xb7 Drive improvements in validation methodology, tooling, and coverage metrics
xc2xb7 Mentor junior team members and ensure knowledge sharing and process compliance
Required Skills:
xc2xb7 Strong experience with Simics-based virtual platform validation or similar simulation environments
xc2xb7 Solid understanding of SoC architecture, firmware flows, CPU/memory subsystems, and IP integration
xc2xb7 Proficiency in Python and/or Bash for test automation and environment setup
xc2xb7 Hands-on experience with test development, execution, and bug tracking
xc2xb7 Familiarity with hardware design specs, datasheets, and configuration registers
xc2xb7 Excellent debugging and analytical skills with the ability to isolate root causes across HW/SW boundaries
Desired Skills :
xc2xb7 Experience integrating validation in CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
xc2xb7 Exposure to simulation accuracy benchmarking and performance validation
xc2xb7 Understanding of pre-silicon bring-up processes and firmware validation
xc2xb7 Prior team lead or mentorship experience is a plus
Qualification:
xc2xb7 Bachelorxe2x80x99s or Masterxe2x80x99s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
xc2xb7 8+ years of experience in validation or embedded systems, with at least 2xe2x80x933 years in Simics or virtual platform environments
