Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Sign Language Interpreter to support communication between hearing-impaired patients, students, and healthcare professionals in our Medical College and Hospital. The ideal candidate should be proficient in Indian Sign Language (ISL) and have the ability to interpret medical and academic information clearly and accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

Facilitate effective communication between hearing-impaired patients/students and doctors, nurses, faculty, and staff.
Interpret medical consultations, lectures, training sessions, meetings, and patient interactions.
Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in interpreting sensitive medical and academic information.
Assist students with hearing impairments in classroom learning and clinical postings.
Provide communication support during hospital visits, seminars, workshops, and campus activities.
Collaborate with faculty and medical staff to create an inclusive and accessible learning and healthcare environment.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Diploma/Certification in Indian Sign Language (ISL) Interpretation from a recognized institute.
Proficiency in Indian Sign Language (mandatory).
Prior experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational or healthcare settings preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle medical/technical terminology with accuracy.
Empathy, patience, and cultural sensitivity while working with differently-abled individuals.

Experience:

0-2 years (Freshers with ISL certification are encouraged to apply).
