Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Political Show Producer to lead the ideation, production, and execution of high-impact political and current affairs shows. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of Tamil politics, governance, and public policy, along with strong editorial judgment and leadership skills to manage teams in a fast-paced news environment.

Key Responsibilities

Conceptualize, produce, and oversee political debates, panel discussions, explainers, interviews, and long-form shows

Drive editorial strategy and ensure accuracy, balance, and relevance in political content

Script and supervise show rundowns, narratives, and discussion points

Lead and manage production, editorial, and research teams

Coordinate with anchors, reporters, guests, and technical teams

Handle live shows, studio operations, and field reporting logistics

Monitor breaking news and adapt content quickly under tight deadlines

Ensure shows are optimized for digital-first audiences and platform-specific consumption

Required Skills & Qualifications

7+ years of experience in news or political show production

Strong understanding of Tamil politics, governance, elections, and current affairs

Proven track record of producing digital-first political/news formats

Excellent scripting, storytelling, and editorial decision-making skills

Prior leadership experience managing editorial and production teams

Ability to work in a high-pressure, deadline-driven news cycle

Comfortable with live broadcasting, studio setups, and field reporting

Strong communication and coordination skills
