ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Shopify Headless Developer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in building custom Shopify solutions from the ground up, with strong proficiency in modern frontend technologies and API integration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and develop custom Shopify stores from scratch using headless architecture Build custom Shopify apps using React, Next.js, and other modern frameworks Implement and integrate Shopify APIs (Storefront API, Admin API, GraphQL) Develop custom frontend experiences decoupled from Shopify's default theme layer Design and implement database solutions for custom Shopify applications Create seamless integrations between Shopify and third-party services Optimize application performance and ensure scalability Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code Collaborate with design and product teams to deliver exceptional user experiences
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Technical Skills:

Strong proficiency in React.js and Next.js (latest versions) Deep understanding of Shopify platform, APIs, and ecosystem Experience with Shopify Storefront API and Admin API Proficiency in GraphQL and REST APIs Strong knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript Experience with database design and management (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) Understanding of headless commerce architecture Familiarity with Shopify Polaris design system Experience with state management (Redux, Context API, or similar) Knowledge of modern CSS frameworks (Tailwind CSS, styled-components)
Shopify-Specific:

Proven experience building Shopify stores from scratch Experience developing custom Shopify apps Understanding of Shopify Liquid (for hybrid implementations) Knowledge of Shopify Plus features (preferred) Experience with Shopify webhooks and metafields Familiarity with Shopify app authentication and billing
General:

3+ years of experience in web development 2+ years of hands-on Shopify development experience Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent communication skills in English Ability to work independently and in a team environment Experience with version control (Git)
NICE TO HAVE

Experience with Hydrogen and Oxygen (Shopify's headless framework) Knowledge of Shopify Scripts and Shopify Functions Experience with serverless architectures (Vercel, AWS Lambda) Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library) Understanding of SEO best practices for headless commerce Previous experience with e-commerce analytics and tracking
