Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced

Shipping Manager

to handle end-to-end logistics and export operations for multiple product categories including

FMCG, Clothing, Footwear, and Construction materials

. The role involves managing shipments from India via

sea and air

, coordinating with vendors, ensuring quality control, handling export documentation, and liaising with freight forwarders, transporters, and banks.

Key Responsibilities:Export & Logistics Management

Plan, coordinate, and execute

international shipments (FCL/LCL, Air Freight)

from India to overseas destinations. Manage shipment timelines, booking space with

freight forwarders

, and ensure cost-effective logistics solutions. Coordinate with

local transporters

for factory pickups, CFS movements, and port deliveries.
Vendor Coordination & Quality Control

Conduct and oversee

QC inspections

for FMCG, garments, footwear, and construction materials before shipment. Coordinate with vendors to resolve

quality, packing, labeling, and compliance issues

. Ensure goods meet buyer specifications, export standards, and country-specific regulations.
Documentation & Banking Compliance

Prepare and manage all export documentation including: Commercial Invoice Packing List Bill of Lading / Airway Bill Certificate of Origin Insurance documents Shipping Bills and other statutory documents Ensure

accurate and timely submission of all documents to banks

for LC, DP, DA, or advance payment shipments. Coordinate with CHA for smooth

customs clearance in India

Customs & Clearance

Liaise with

Customs House Agents (CHA)

for export clearance. Ensure compliance with Indian export laws, DGFT norms, and destination country requirements. Handle inspections, queries, and documentation required by customs authorities.
Coordination & Communication

Act as the key point of contact between: Vendors Freight forwarders CHAs Banks Internal teams Provide regular shipment updates, ETDs/ETAs, and exception handling.
Cost & Process Control

Monitor freight costs, local transport charges, and documentation expenses. Maintain shipment records, MIS reports, and export performance tracking. Suggest process improvements to reduce delays, damages, and logistics costs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:

6-10+ years of experience in

export shipping & logistics

. Strong knowledge of

sea and air freight operations

. Hands-on experience with

QC processes

for FMCG, garments, footwear, or construction materials. In-depth understanding of

export documentation, customs clearance, and banking procedures

. Experience dealing with

freight forwarders, CHAs, transporters, and vendors

. Good communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in MS Excel and basic ERP systems.
Preferred Background:

Experience handling

multi-category exports

. Prior exposure to

Africa / Middle East / International markets

is an advantage.
