Job Description

The Shift Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing daily plant operations during the assigned shift to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant chemical manufacturing. This role will manage manpower, production activities, process parameters, safety protocols, and documentation to achieve production targets while maintaining high quality and EHS standards.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and guide production operators and technicians during shift operations. Execute production schedules to meet shift targets in terms of safety, quality, and output. Ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) protocols at all times. Monitor and control process parameters such as temperature, pressure, pH, flow, and batch sequence. Coordinate with QA/QC, maintenance, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth plant operations. Perform shift start-up, shutdown, and emergency handling procedures as per SOPs. Provide training and hands-on support to operators for safe equipment handling and best practices. Maintain accurate reports: shift logbook, production records, material consumption, downtime analysis. Identify process deviations or breakdowns and escalate/coordinate resolution.

Required Skills & Competencies

Diploma or Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Proven experience in supervising a chemical manufacturing/process plant. Knowledge of safety protocols (HSE), quality control, and managing a production team. Ability to troubleshoot process and equipment issues promptly.
