Job Description

Key Responsibilities

:

Operations Management

: Supervise all plant operations during the shift, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and production targets. Ensure adherence to production schedules and make necessary adjustments as needed. Operate and control plant equipment, systems, and machinery as required.

Safety & Compliance

: Enforce safety policies and ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards. Monitor and enforce the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Conduct regular safety checks to identify hazards and mitigate risks. Lead and participate in emergency response actions when required. Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.

Team Leadership

: Supervise and guide the shift team, including operators and technicians. Provide training and development for new and existing personnel on operational procedures and safety practices. Assign tasks and responsibilities to the team and ensure that they are carried out efficiently. Conduct shift handovers and ensure that critical information is passed between shifts.

Troubleshooting & Problem Solving

: Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions or process-related issues and take immediate corrective actions. Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure prompt resolution of equipment failures. Perform root cause analysis on any operational issues or discrepancies and implement corrective actions.

Documentation & Reporting

: Maintain accurate records of plant activities, incidents, production output, and any deviations. Prepare and submit daily shift reports outlining production performance, issues, and other relevant information. Ensure that the plant is operating within regulatory compliance, maintaining records for audits.

Coordination & Communication

: Liaise with the control room, maintenance, quality, and other departments to coordinate plant activities. Provide regular updates on plant performance to higher management. Ensure smooth communication between shift teams to prevent disruptions in operations.

Quality Control

: Monitor the quality of the products and ensure that they meet required standards and specifications. Ensure that any deviations in quality are reported and addressed. Work with the quality control team to ensure that product testing and inspection are carried out as per the procedures.

Continuous Improvement

: Participate in meetings to discuss plant performance, safety concerns, and potential improvements. Suggest and implement improvements in plant operations, processes, and safety procedures. Support initiatives for plant optimization and cost reduction.

Qualifications

:

Educational Requirements

: A Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related field is typically required. A Diploma in Chemical Engineering with relevant experience is also acceptable.

Experience

: At least 3 years of experience in plant operations within a chemical manufacturing environment, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or shift management role.

Skills & Competencies

: In-depth knowledge of chemical plant operations, safety standards, and equipment. Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues promptly. Good understanding of regulatory requirements and quality standards in the chemical industry. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Proficiency in using plant control systems and other relevant software.

Working Conditions

:

Work in shifts (day/night rotation as per schedule). Occasional overtime may be required. Work in an industrial environment with exposure to chemicals, heat, and machinery. Must adhere to all safety protocols and use appropriate protective gear.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

:

Operational efficiency (production targets, uptime, etc.). Safety record (number of incidents, compliance with safety checks, etc.). Team performance and morale. Quality control and product consistency. Timely and accurate shift reporting.

Pay: ?25,000.00 - ?30,000.00 per month
