Job Summary

The Shift In-Charge is responsible for managing and supervising production activities during the assigned shift in a particle board manufacturing unit. The role ensures smooth operations, adherence to

BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards)

requirements, quality control, safety compliance, manpower management, and achievement of production targets.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & Operations

Manage end-to-end production activities during the assigned shift. Ensure production targets are met with minimum wastage and downtime. Monitor machine operations (press, dryer, blender, forming line, sanding, etc.). Coordinate with maintenance team for breakdowns and preventive maintenance.
Quality Control & BIS Compliance

Ensure compliance with

BIS standards for particle board

(IS 3087 and related norms). Monitor raw material quality, process parameters, and finished goods quality. Maintain BIS-related records, test reports, and production logs. Support internal and external BIS audits and inspections.
Manpower & Shift Management

Allocate manpower efficiently across machines and sections. Supervise operators, helpers, and technicians during the shift. Maintain discipline, attendance, and productivity of shift staff. Train workers on SOPs, quality standards, and safety practices.
Safety & Compliance

Ensure adherence to safety rules, PPE usage, and statutory requirements. Report and investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions. Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards in the production area.
Reporting & Coordination

Prepare shift-wise production, quality, and downtime reports. Hand over shift details to the next shift In-Charge. Coordinate with QA, Stores, Maintenance, and HR departments.
Educational Qualification

Diploma / B.Tech / B.E in Mechanical / Production / Chemical / Wood Technology or relevant field.
Experience

3-6 years experience

in particle board / plywood / MDF manufacturing.

Mandatory experience in BIS standards, documentation, and audits

. Experience as Shift In-Charge / Supervisor preferred.

Strong knowledge of particle board manufacturing process BIS compliance & quality control knowledge Leadership and manpower handling skills Basic computer skills (production & BIS records) Problem-solving and decision-making ability

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
