Job Description

Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & Operations Manage and supervise all fabrication activities during the shift (cutting, bending, welding, fitting, assembly, etc.).
Manpower Management

Allocate jobs to welders, fitters, operators, and helpers based on skill levels. Monitor attendance, discipline, and performance of shift manpower. Guide, train, and motivate workers to improve productivity and quality.
Quality Control

Ensure fabrication work meets drawing specifications, WPS, and quality standards. Conduct in-process checks and address non-conformities immediately. Coordinate with QC inspectors for inspections and approvals.
Safety & Compliance

Ensure adherence to safety rules, PPE usage, and safe work practices. Conduct toolbox talks and promote a safe working culture. Report and investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
Documentation & Reporting

Maintain shift reports, production logs, and manpower records. Report daily production status, issues, and corrective actions to management. Ensure proper handover to the next shift.
Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and waste minimization. Support 5S, TPM, and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience

Education:

Diploma / ITI / BE in Mechanical or related field

Experience:

3-8 years in fabrication, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role

Technical Skills:

Knowledge of fabrication drawings Welding processes (MIG, TIG, ARC) Cutting, bending, and fabrication tools

Soft Skills:

Leadership and team handling Problem-solving Good communication skills

Achievement of production targets Quality rejection rate Safety incidents / compliance Manpower productivity Machine downtime reduction Ensure daily production targets are met as per the production plan. Monitor machine utilization, downtime, and productivity. Coordinate with planning, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure smooth operations.
