Monitor the delivery of patient care to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with hospital protocols.
Address any urgent clinical or patient-related issues promptly.
Ensure infection control and patient safety measures are strictly followed.
2. Staff Supervision & Coordination:
Allocate and supervise nursing staff during the shift.
Conduct shift briefings, assign duties, and manage breaks.
Provide support and guidance to junior staff and trainees.
Ensure adequate nurse-to-patient ratios.
3. Shift Handover & Communication:
Conduct effective handovers between shifts, ensuring accurate communication of patient conditions and unit status.
Maintain clear documentation and communication among the healthcare team.
Liaise with doctors, allied health professionals, and support services.
4. Emergency Response:
Respond promptly to medical emergencies and assist in code situations (Code Blue, etc.).
Lead the nursing team in critical situations, ensuring proper roles and timely interventions.
5. Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate shift reports, patient records, and incident reports.
Ensure stock levels of medicines, equipment, and consumables are adequate.
Report equipment malfunctions or shortages to the relevant department.
6. Compliance & Training:
Ensure adherence to hospital policies, protocols, and legal regulations.
Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and training programs.
Support orientation and training of new staff.
