We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to join our SPD 2 Mechanical Maintenance team as an Assistant Engineer (A.E).

Job Purpose:

To ensure smooth and efficient mechanical maintenance of all process lines and equipment within SPD 2, ensuring maximum uptime, reliability, and operational efficiency in line with plant safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Equipment Maintenance and Reliability:Supervise and perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of mechanical equipment such as 20 Hi Mill, Bright Annealing Line, Slitting Line, and Utility Systems. Supervise and monitor equipment performance, checklists of all equipments.

2. Hydraulic and Utility System Management:Supervise maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Supervise in maintaining utility equipment such as pumps, etc.

3. Fabrication and Modification Work:Supervise fabrication, welding, and machining work related to maintenance and plant improvement projects. Support in modification and upgradation of existing mechanical systems to enhance productivity and safety.

4. Documentation and Compliance:Maintain maintenance logs, breakdown reports, and preventive maintenance records. Ensure compliance with safety, ISO, and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) standards.

5. Team Coordination and Continuous Improvement:Coordinate with production and electrical teams for effective maintenance scheduling. Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement (Kaizen) initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Experience: 3-6 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in the steel or heavy manufacturing industry. Preferred Exposure: Experience with 20 Hi Mill, Bright Annealing Line, Slitting Lines, and Hydraulic Systems.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and utilities. Hands-on experience with maintenance troubleshooting. Familiar with safety procedures, TPM practices, and root cause analysis. Good communication and team coordination skills. Proactive approach with problem-solving and analytical mindset.
