Job Purpose:
The primary objective of this role is to ensure the efficient and safe operation of electrical equipment during shifts, including breakdown and routine maintenance, compliance with safety protocols, vendor coordination for workforce optimization, and the execution of special projects. The role also focuses on improving operational efficiency through resource management, workforce training, and the adoption of digital tools for enhanced equipment monitoring and maintenance.
Responsibilities:
Shift In-charge - Electrical - Copper
Breakdown and Routine Maintenance:

• Execute routine field rounds to monitor critical electrical equipment performance, such as rectifiers and transformers, during shifts.
• Perform breakdown maintenance by troubleshooting and repairing equipment issues promptly, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Assist in preventive maintenance tasks, adhering to schedules and ensuring consistent equipment performance.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team and vendors to resolve any issues requiring external support.

Safety Adherence:

• Execute safety checks and ensure strict compliance with safety protocols during maintenance and operational activities.
• Manage electrical isolation procedures to ensure equipment is safely isolated for maintenance, following permit requirements.
• Address safety concerns immediately, ensuring all team members are operating within established safety guidelines.

Vendor Management:

• Coordinate with external vendors during shifts to manage specialized maintenance tasks and ensure timely delivery of services.
• Assist in monitoring vendor performance, ensuring they meet safety and operational standards.
• Support vendor relationships, ensuring they align with the section's operational and maintenance needs.

Training and Resource Utilization:

• Assist in workforce training, ensuring team members understand equipment operations and safety protocols.
• Utilize manpower effectively to manage field operations, balancing workload across team members during the shift.
• Follow up on pending maintenance tasks from previous shifts, ensuring timely completion and optimal resource utilization.

Special Projects and Digitization:

• Support special projects, such as the adoption of new digital tools to improve equipment monitoring and data tracking.
• Execute tasks for process improvement initiatives, contributing to enhanced operational efficiency.
• Assist in gathering data and feedback for ongoing digitization projects aimed at improving electrical system performance.

Qualifications:
Education Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
Work Experience (Range of years):
3-7 years of experience in electrical maintenance within the metal industry
Certifications:
Valid electrical certification or license
