The Shift Engineer - Water Systems is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of all purified water, WFI, and utility water systems during assigned shifts. The role ensures continuous system performance, timely troubleshooting, and adherence to regulatory and quality standards. The engineer supports day-to-day operations, routine monitoring, system documentation, and coordination with cross-functional teams to maintain uninterrupted water supply and equipment reliability.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Monitor and operate purified water, WFI, soft water, and utility water systems throughout the shift.
Perform routine checks, record system parameters, and ensure all data is documented as per cGMP and SOP requirements.
Respond promptly to alarms, deviations, and equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance with maintenance teams and ensure timely execution.
Conduct system sanitization, filter integrity checks, and basic troubleshooting of pumps, valves, sensors, and RO/UF systems.
Ensure compliance with safety guidelines, environmental norms, and quality standards.
Prepare and hand over detailed shift reports and escalate critical issues when required.
Support audits, system validations, and performance qualification activities.
Review, follow, and update SOPs related to water systems and utilities as applicable.
Collaborate with Production, QA, QC, and Engineering teams to ensure smooth shift operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Diploma/Bachelor's in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related engineering field.
Basic understanding of water treatment systems and cGMP operations.
