Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious

Shearing Machine Operator

to join our production line. Your primary responsibility will be to set up and operate power-driven shearing machines to cut plastic (or metal) sheets to specific dimensions. You will play a critical role in ensuring that the materials provided to our customization team are accurate, straight, and ready for welding.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation:

Operate hydraulic or mechanical shearing machines to cut materials according to production orders.

Setup & Calibration:

Adjust back-gauges, blade gaps, and guides to ensure cuts meet the required tolerances (often within $pm 0.5text{mm}$).

Material Handling:

Load large plastic sheets onto the machine table and ensure they are squared properly before cutting.

Quality Inspection:

Use measuring tapes, calipers, and squares to verify that the first and last pieces of every batch are perfectly accurate.

Scrap Management:

Monitor and minimize material wastage; sort scrap for recycling or reuse.

Basic Maintenance:

Perform daily checks on blade sharpness and machine lubrication; report any mechanical issues to the supervisor immediately.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience:

Minimum 1-2 years of experience operating industrial shearing or cutting machinery.

Measurement Skills:

Strong ability to read a measuring tape and understand metric/imperial units.

Technical Knowledge:

Basic understanding of material properties (how different plastics react to blade pressure).

Safety Mindset:

Strict adherence to machine guarding rules and "Lockout/Tagout" (LOTO) procedures.

Attention to Detail:

Ability to spot a "burr" or an uneven edge that could affect the final product quality.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for long shifts in a factory environment. Physical strength to handle large-format sheets (often requiring two-person lifts or mechanical aids). Willingness to work in shifts as per production demands.
