What will you be doing?
  • The role holder has been successful in securing a new role outside of Barclays starting on the 16th October 2022. The role holder is responsible for acting as a key member within the team to deliver against Sharepoint Online and Power Platform operational objectives, ensuring users are supported with any Security , Governance, SME support and incident resolution. SharePoint teams responsibilities include Security monitoring, cloud platform issue resolution, power platform governance monitoring. SharePoint and Power Platform are both high dependency technologies that requires fast and active resolutions to ensure that users have minimal down time from being able to do their BAU activities / have access to bank critical tools and processes. Ensuring that we have enough resources is imperative to cover this support model and to meet / exceed IPC objectives thus allowing operations to run smoothly within the bank. Why does this role need to exist? To manage and support the individual products that fall under the Sharepoint Operations Cloud space; Key serviced provided by this team include Secure Build Monitoring, Platform Monitoring, Platform Governance processes, SME advice to user base, Request and JML process exception processing. Having enough resources directly impacts the service we can offer our end users, not enough resources will mean more down time for users that will not be able to perform their BAU role, due to reliance on our support model. How does hiring this resource align to Business Strategy and ultimately help the Barclays shareholder? The role holder is accountable to drive improvements and services for end users to ensure that colleagues down time is kept to a minimum and improving the estate offering overall. Ensuring that we maintain a stable environment is important as both products have such high usage - these two products are rescat 1 services - with over 100,000 active users and 15,000 SharePoint sites. Why can the role not be absorbed by existing headcount? This is a full time role in an already small team. The role holder is accountable for day-to-day management of support tickets and ensuring key platforms are maintained within governance. It is also important we maintain a geographical spread of resource across our key locations, in this case India (Pune). Is this role project funded? No, W&C Run resource What would be the impact/risk of not approving? Failure to replace this role will result in overloading the already busy remaining colleagues. This will result in not having enough colleagues to support the applications (breached IPC & SLA scores) meaning users will have longer 'down time' before they can continue doing their BAU work. It will also lead to initiatives on new technology being deprioritised that are aiming at reducing incident loads (meaning we will end up with more issues that require additional resources at a future date to handle).
