JOB DESCRIPTION
We're looking for SharePoint Administrator who will be responsible for owning, managing, optimizing, and securing the Microsoft 365 SharePoint Online environment. This role ensures reliable day-to-day operations while designing scalable information architecture and governance that supports enterprise collaboration needs. The administrator will lead site provisioning, permissions, lifecycle management, and automation initiatives, while partnering closely with business stakeholders, Security, and Compliance teams. A key responsibility includes creating, maintaining, and continuously improving a comprehensive SharePoint Governance Guide to ensure consistency, compliance, and clear operational guardrails across the organization. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex, cross-functional challenges and is passionate about building secure, user-friendly digital workplaces using modern collaboration platforms from Microsoft.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Responsibilities o Own end-to-end SharePoint Online administration (sites, hubs, permissions, search, settings). o Design and maintain scalable information architecture (site templates, navigation, metadata). o Help create, publish, and continuously improve the SharePoint governance guide. o Implement site provisioning and lifecycle workflows (request intake, approval, archival, deletion). o Manage permissions and access control (Owners/Members/Visitors, Azure AD groups, external sharing). o Configure and curate hub sites, home sites, and global navigation for consistency. o Optimize search and content discovery (managed properties, result sources, verticals). o Monitor service health, performance, and capacity; troubleshoot and resolve incidents. o Document standards, runbooks, and how to guides for admins and content owners. o Partner with Security/Compliance to align retention, sensitivity labels, and audit requirements.
Administration & Security
o Enforce least privilege access, MFA/Conditional Access implications, and external collaboration settings. o Configure sharing policies and guest access; remediate oversharing and orphaned content. o Manage Site Collections, site settings, and advanced features (term store, content types). o Track and act on compliance signals (DLP alerts, audit logs, eDiscovery coordination). o Perform regular permission reviews and recertifications with site owners. o Maintain change management practices (CAB submissions, test/validate before production). Development & Automation o Build and maintain Power Automate flows for approvals, notifications, and lifecycle tasks. o Create PowerShell scripts for bulk operations, reporting, and configuration drift checks. o Support low code solutions (Power Apps forms, lists enhancements, JSON formatting). o Develop and maintain site templates (PnP provisioning, site scripts/site designs). o Automate metadata governance (term store updates, content type deployment). Collaboration & Support o Provide Tier 2/3 support; resolve escalations across SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive intersections.o Advise content owners on best practices for pages, lists, libraries, and versioning. o Deliver training and office hours for site owners and contributors; promote adoption. o Run periodic health checks and publish dashboards on inventory, usage, and risk.
