The Shader Matcher is responsible for developing, adjusting, and maintaining color formulations to ensure accurate color matching in aerosol coatings and finishes. This role involves working with pigments, resins, and additives to achieve the desired shade, gloss, and texture while ensuring consistency in production.
Key Responsibilities:
Formulate and adjust color blends to match customer specifications and industry standards.
Conduct color matching using spectrophotometers, visual assessments, and other color measurement tools.
Work with raw materials such as pigments, solvents, and resins to achieve precise color consistency.
Perform quality control checks on aerosol products to maintain uniformity across batches.
Troubleshoot color-related issues and make necessary adjustments to formulations.
Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality assurance teams to improve color accuracy and product performance.
Maintain detailed records of color formulations, test results, and adjustments for future reference.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in handling chemicals and aerosol formulations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree in chemistry, coatings technology, or a related field is a plus.
Experience:
Previous experience in color matching, coatings formulation, or paint technology preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in using color matching equipment (spectrophotometers, colorimeters).
