: ServiceNow Senior Technical Consultant SPM
Location : Pune, Chennai, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad
Job Summary:
The ServiceNow Senior Technical Consultant (SPM) is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering Strategic Portfolio Management solutions on the ServiceNow platform. The role focuses on helping organizations optimize project, program, and portfolio processes through effective configuration, automation, and integration of SPM capabilities.
Solution Design & Implementation
Lead end-to-end implementation of ServiceNow SPM modules, including:
o Project & Portfolio Management (PPM)
o Demand Management
o Resource Management
o Innovation Management
o Financial Planning
o Agile/SAFe
o OKRs
Configure and customize SPM applications using Flow Designer, Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, and Service Portal widgets.
Translate business requirements into scalable, efficient technical solutions aligned with platform best practices.
Client and Stakeholder Management
Conduct requirements workshops with business stakeholders to understand goals, processes, and pain points.
Provide expert recommendations on SPM capabilities, data models, process optimization, and platform strategy.
Serve as a trusted advisor for clients on portfolio governance, reporting structures, and roadmapping.
Technical Delivery & Governance
Oversee design documentation, technical specifications, and solution architectures.
Ensure technical quality by conducting peer reviews and guiding junior developers/consultants.
Support UAT, resolve defects, and ensure timely delivery of milestones.
Maintain compliance with ServiceNow architecture, security, coding, and performance standards.
Integration & Data
Design and implement integrations between ServiceNow SPM and external systems (ERP, financial tools, project tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, etc.) using IntegrationHub, REST/SOAP APIs.
Support data migration, including mapping, transformation, and validation.
Quality & Governance
Perform unit testing, support UAT, and ensure all delivered solutions meet acceptance criteria.
Produce and maintain technical documentation, design specs, and operational guides.
Required Skills and Experience:
5+ years hands-on ServiceNow development/configuration experience.
Strong expertise in ServiceNow SPM/PPM (mandatory).
Proficiency with JavaScript, Glide APIs, and platform scripting.
Experience with:
o Project, Demand, and Resource Management workflows
o Portfolio and investment planning
o Agile Delivery & SAFe
o Timecards, financial planning, and reporting
Strong understanding of SPM data models, roles, and reporting (Performance Analytics preferred).
ServiceNow certifications such as:
o Certified System Administrator (CSA)
o Certified Implementation Specialist SPM/PPM (highly preferred)
o CAD or other module certifications are an advantage.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a consulting/professional services environment.
Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, SAFe, PMBOK, PRINCE2).
Experience with other ServiceNow modules (ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM).
Ability to run workshops, lead technical design, and manage complex implementations.
