Job Summary





Fortive is seeking a skilled and motivated ServiceNow developer with a strong focus on ITOM, CMDB/CSDM (Configuration Management Database/Common Service Data Model), Application Mapping, and Vulnerability Management. This role is central to supporting and advancing our global ServiceNow environment, with a particular emphasis on ensuring the integrity, completeness, and security of configuration data. Candidates will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing ServiceNow solutions that align with business requirements and best practices.



Candidates will work closely with architects, stakeholders, and external partners to enhance workflows, automate processes, and ensure platform supportability, performance, and upgradability. They will be responsible for development, documentation, test plans and the transition of developed solutions to our ServiceNow Operations team for business-as-usual support.



The ideal candidate should be a self-starter ensuring CMDB data integrity and support core ITOM and related processes across the enterprise. They are able to work independently within a technical team and be comfortable operating in a fast-paced organization. Primary Responsibilities and Job Duties:




Drive adoption and continuous improvement of ITOM, CMDB and CSDM, applying robust controls to ensure configuration data quality and accuracy across multiple sources. Design and implement ServiceNow Application Mapping to visualize and manage relationships between infrastructure components and business applications. Implement integrations between ServiceNow and other enterprise applications, especially those that enhance ITOM, CMDB, and Vulnerability Management capabilities. Define and enforce CMDB governance & data quality standards Deep understanding of ServiceNow MID-server architecture and the role it plays in Discovery optimization, discovery patterns, Discovery schedules and cloud discovery. Perform data audits, health checks, and reconciliation. Collaborate with stakeholders in ITSM, ITOM, Asset & Vulnerability to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions for process alignment. Work across other ServiceNow modules and capabilities according to demand. Design and develop solutions on the ServiceNow platform. Ensure compliance with ServiceNow development standards, low-code/no-code, configuration-not-customization and other best practices. Maintain a high standard of code quality by writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code optimizing for performance Act as Tier 3 escalation point for the ServiceNow Operations team to assist with resolution of issues with ServiceNow applications or integrations. Stay updated with the latest ServiceNow features and enhancements and recommend improvements. Communicate technical problems and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences. Participate in process design workshops and kaizen events. Occasional travel both nationally and internationally. Other Duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications







Required:




3+ years of experience in ServiceNow development and administration, with proven expertise in ITOM, CMDB, Application Mapping, and Vulnerability Management. Deep understanding of ServiceNow MID-server architecture and the role it plays in Discovery optimization, discovery patterns, Discovery schedules, Cloud discovery, Event Management Strong understanding of IT infrastructure--including servers, networks, storage, virtualization, and cloud services--is essential for accurately modeling configuration items and their relationships within a CMDB. Track record of driving CMDB and CSDM adoption, preferably with evidence of applying controls around configuration data quality across multiple sources Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Proven bias for low-code/no-code approaches to development. Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API, and ServiceNow scripting. Experience integrating ServiceNow with other enterprise systems. Familiarity with the Agile methodology and working with Stories and Sprints to deliver new capabilities. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to lead small projects with manageable risks. Comfortable working in a lean, fast-paced technology environment with high expectations. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while delivering results. Acts as a mentor and resource for other colleagues.




Preferred:




Experience with Service Portal/Employee Center, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, NowAssist, Virtual Agent, AI Search, Performance Analytics, Platform Analytics, Event Management, Health Log Analytics, dashboards and reporting. Familiarity with Solarwinds, DataDog or similar observability tools. Evidence of commitment to continuous learning via certifications or attendance at conferences.




This position is based in the Fortive office in Bangalore with the option of remote work on 1 day per-week. Your primary colleagues will be based in India, the USA and the UK with stakeholders distributed globally - a flexible approach to your working day will be required.
