- Application Engineer (VFDs)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Application Engineer - Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) to support our customers and sales team with technical expertise, application engineering, and solution development. The role involves pre-sales, post-sales, and field support for VFD applications across multiple industries.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical support to sales teams and customers for VFD selection, sizing, and application engineering.

Analyze customer requirements and design optimized drive solutions (motor control, energy efficiency, automation integration).

Conduct site visits, commissioning, and troubleshooting of VFDs.

Support in creating application notes, case studies, and technical documentation.

Deliver training sessions for customers, OEMs, and internal teams on VFD products and applications.

Assist in project proposals, BOM preparation, and cost estimation.

Interface with R&D / product team to provide market feedback and application insights.

Ensure compliance with safety standards, electrical codes, and quality processes.

Required Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of VFDs, motors, and industrial automation systems.

Hands-on experience in VFD commissioning, parameterization, and troubleshooting.

Understanding of PLC/DCS interfaces, fieldbus protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, etc.).

Excellent problem-solving and customer-facing skills.

Ability to interpret electrical drawings, single line diagrams, and control schematics.

Good communication, presentation, and training delivery skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.

2-5 years' experience in VFD applications, commissioning, or service.

Familiarity with major drive brands (ABB, Siemens, Danfoss, Schneider, Yaskawa, Delta, etc.).

Knowledge of energy-saving applications in pumps, fans, compressors, conveyors, and cranes is an added advantage.
