Job Description

A Service Marketing Advisor for commercial vehicles acts as the primary link between fleet customers and the service department, responsible for maximizing customer retention, selling maintenance packages, and ensuring high-quality vehicle service. They bridge technical service divisions with client needs, focusing on building long-term relationships, managing workshop workflows, and achieving service targets.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Relationship & Marketing:

Greet commercial clients, understand their vehicle needs, sell, and promote maintenance plans or extended warranties.

Service Operations:

Create, manage, and update work orders, coordinate with technicians, and update customers on repair statuses.

Technical Advising:

Interpret and explain technical vehicle issues and service requirements to customers, and ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications.

Workflow Management:

Manage service bookings, optimize workshop efficiency, and handle customer complaints effectively.

Financial Administration:

Prepare accurate cost estimates, process invoices, and manage, often using dealer management systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience:

Previous experience as a service technician or advisor in a commercial vehicle dealership or workshop is often required.

Knowledge:

Strong understanding of automotive systems, specifically for commercial vehicles.

Communication:

Excellent interpersonal skills for dealing with fleet managers and drivers.

Technical/Admin:

Proficient in computer systems (e.g., Microsoft Office, Excede) and knowledge of repair processes.

Licensing:

Often requires a valid, state-issued driver's license.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) levels. Service department productivity and efficiency. Growth in maintenance plan sales. Accuracy of repair orders and invoicing.
