The Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the workshop, ensuring high-quality service delivery, customer satisfaction, efficient workflow, and achievement of service revenue targets. This role manages technicians, advisors, floor in-charge, and support staff to maintain smooth service operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Workshop Operations Management
Plan and monitor daily workshop activities.
Allocate jobs to mechanics based on skill and workload.
Ensure timely completion of vehicles (free service, paid service, running repairs).
Monitor bay utilization and productivity.
Review job cards and ensure proper documentation.
2. Customer Handling
Address customer concerns and ensure maximum satisfaction.
Handle escalated complaints professionally.
Ensure timely delivery of vehicles.
Conduct post-service follow-up calls as required.
3. Team Management
Supervise Service Advisors, Mechanics, Floor Supervisors, and Washers.
Conduct daily briefings and assign targets.
Train and motivate team for performance improvement.
Monitor technician productivity, efficiency, and attendance.
4. Quality Control
Ensure repairs comply with OEM standards.
Validate final inspection checklist before delivery.
Minimize repeat jobs and quality-related complaints.
5. Revenue & KPI Achievement
Achieve monthly service revenue targets.
Improve workshop productivity, efficiency, and labour margin.
Drive upselling of accessories, AMC, RSA, and value-added services.
Maintain high CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index).
6. Inventory & Parts Coordination
Coordinate with the Spare Parts Manager for availability of parts.
Reduce job delays due to parts shortages.
Monitor consumption of lubricants and consumables.
7. Compliance & Safety
Ensure workshop safety standards are followed.
Maintain 5S, tools, equipment, and cleanliness.
Adhere to company and OEM guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills
Diploma/Graduate in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering.
5-10 years of experience in service operations (Two-wheeler industry preferred).
Strong technical knowledge of two-wheelers.
Good communication, team management, and customer-handling skills.
Ability to handle pressure and meet targets.
