Job Summary
The Service Manager will lead the service and installation function, ensuring timely machine installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and breakdown support. The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and effective coordination with customers and internal teams to deliver high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, guide, and supervise the service team for installation, commissioning, maintenance, and breakdown services.
Plan and manage the service engineer schedules and assign tasks efficiently.
Define and implement service strategies, SLAs, and preventive maintenance plans to maximize machine uptime.
Coordinate with customers after order finalization and manage service-related communication.
Handle prepaid service management processes and ensure proper execution.
Monitor and manage spare parts requirements, mould sales, and inventory usage.
Track key service KPIs such as response time, uptime, first-time fix rate, and service cost control.
Coordinate with production, design, spares, and sales teams for technical resolutions and continuous improvement.
Handle customer escalations, build strong relationships, and ensure exceptional service delivery.
Conduct team training, skill development, performance monitoring, and capability building.
Maintain accurate reports for service engineers, technicians, client visits, and service operations.
Visit client sites for machine installation, commissioning, or to support the service team when required.
Requisite Skills
Strong hands-on experience with installation tools, equipment, and machine servicing.
Quick learner with strong technical comprehension.
Excellent communication and team-handling skills.
Willingness to travel extensively (approx. 75% PAN India).
Ability to work under pressure while meeting service deadlines.
Desired Skills
Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical mindset.
Effective problem-solving abilities.
Customer service orientation with good relationship management skills.
Ability to converse in local languages; English is an added advantage.
Education
Diploma in Electrical
BE / B.Tech in Electrical or Mechanical
Experience
Minimum
10 years total experience
Minimum
7 years in a relevant industry
(machinery, capital equipment, heavy machines, manufacturing machinery, etc.)
