The Service Engineer is responsible for providing technical support, installation, maintenance, and service for sheet metal equipment, fabricated products, or installations at client sites. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective service delivery and technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Installation & Commissioning
Carry out installation, assembly, and commissioning of sheet metal components, systems, or machinery at customer sites.
Ensure installations meet design, quality, and safety standards.
Provide product demonstrations and operational training to customers.
2. Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of sheet metal equipment, fittings, or assemblies.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or alignment issues and implement corrective actions.
Coordinate with the design and production teams for technical problem-solving and component replacements.
3. Customer Support & Service
Act as the first point of contact for customer complaints or service requests.
Maintain service logs, feedback reports, and service documentation.
Ensure timely closure of service tickets and high customer satisfaction.
4. Quality & Safety Compliance
Follow company service protocols, quality standards, and safety regulations.
Inspect and verify the quality of fabricated products before and after installation.
Support warranty and after-sales service operations.
5. Coordination & Reporting
Work closely with production, logistics, and quality teams for efficient service planning.
Report field issues, recurring defects, and product improvement suggestions to management.
Maintain inventory of tools, spare parts, and consumables.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes (bending, welding, assembly, finishing).
Hands-on experience with mechanical tools and measuring instruments.
Ability to read technical drawings and interpret assembly details.
Problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
Good communication and customer-handling abilities.
Willingness to travel to customer locations as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
Diploma or B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
2-5 years of experience in service, installation, or maintenance related to sheet metal products or fabrication machinery.
Experience in modular furniture, architectural hardware, or industrial fabrication (preferred).
