The Opportunity:

The Opportunity UST is seeking an experienced Server Validation & Debug Engineer to join our semiconductor validation team in Bangalore. The role involves system-level validation, debugging of complex hardware and firmware issues, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure platform stability and performance across multiple validation cycles.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Lead validation and debugging activities across server platforms including bring-up, feature validation, and performance testing. Develop and execute comprehensive validation plans and test cases for BIOS, BMC, firmware, and hardware components. Perform deep-dive system debugging across layers (hardware, firmware, drivers, and OS). Analyze hardware failures, collect diagnostic logs, and identify root causes using industry-standard debug tools. Collaborate closely with silicon, firmware, and hardware teams to drive defect resolution and design improvements. Automate test execution and validation workflows using Python or Shell scripting. o

Validate server interfaces and features such as PCIe, USB, NVMe, I2C, and power management. Participate in system bring-up activities including flashing firmware, updating drivers, and configuring test environments. Manage test results, bug reports, and validation metrics through tracking tools such as Jira or TestRail. o Mentor junior engineers on validation processes, debugging techniques, and documentation standards.

Required Skills:

8+ years of hands-on experience in server validation, debugging, and system bring-up. Strong understanding of computer architecture, firmware, and operating systems (Windows/Linux). Solid understanding of BMC/IPMI, BIOS/UEFI, and firmware update processes. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proven ability to perform root cause analysis. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with global cross-functional teams.

Qualification:

Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering 8-12 years of experience in server validation, debugging, or platform bring-up.
