Key Responsibilities
Provide
3rd-level technical support
in line with customer SLAs.
Manage daily compute operations including
events, incidents, service requests, change requests, and RCA
activities following ITIL processes.
Perform
server installation, maintenance, monitoring, decommissioning
, and complex configurations beyond automated tasks.
Handle
storage operations
(NetApp - NFS).
Manage
package/repository management and OS image maintenance
.
Conduct
patch management
using BladeLogic Automation.
Configure and maintain
server-related monitoring and alerts
.
Perform
server performance testing and analysis
.
Prepare
documentation, test results, quality checks
, and provide knowledge transfer.
Assist
2nd-level support
with complex technical activities.
Participate in
on-call support
, including weekends or public holidays, as required by project needs.
Required Skills & Experience
3-8 years of hands-on experience in
Linux Server Administration
.
Strong experience with
physical and virtual server installation, maintenance & decommissioning
.
In-depth knowledge of
Linux OS operations
.
Experience with
hypervisors
such as
Xen
and
VMware
.
Good understanding of
LVM, DNS, LDAP, and IP Tables
.
Strong troubleshooting skills, especially for
server down situations
.
Experience in
physical server management
.
Associate-level knowledge in at least one cloud platform (
AWS, Azure, or GCP
).
Basic knowledge of
automation (Chef)
and
scripting (Bash, Perl)
.
Familiarity with
GitHub
and
Jira
(added advantage).
Experience with
Prometheus (Docker)
or
ELK stack
is beneficial (optional).
Knowledge of central infrastructure services such as:
Security Groups, RPM, Rsync, Mail, Active Directory, Chef Automation, Nagios, Repository Management, Monitoring.
Experience installing & configuring Linux services such as
FTP, NFS, Samba, DNS, DHCP
.
