What you will be doing

• Developing level professional role. Moderate skills with high level of proficiency.
• Develops and implements solutions that require analysis and research.
• Works on small to large, complex projects that require increased skill in multiple technical environments.
• Possesses knowledge in a specific business area. Works on one or more projects as a team member or occasionally as a project lead.
• May coach junior technical staff. Works under general supervision with latitude for independent judgment.
• May consult with senior peers on certain projects. Typically reports to an IT Security Manager.

What you bring:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience
• Knowledge of networks technologies (protocols, design concepts, access control)
• Knowledge of security technologies (encryption, data protection, design, privilege access, etc.)
• Knowledge of network design and engineering
• Proficiency in time management, communications, decision making, presentation and organizational skills
• Proficiency in planning, reporting, establishing goals and objectives, standards, priorities and schedules
• Basic to intermediate decision-making and problem solving skills
• Basic to intermediate verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization
• Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees and/or clients
• The EVM Analyst participates in the facilitation of vulnerability management scanning and remediation services for MIT and MSS Only clients.
• The EVM Analyst works daily in the Managed Risk and Security Services Portal (MRSS Portal) to determine which vulnerabilities to remediate utilizing a well-defined risk based approach.
• With a focus on Critical, High and Medium vulnerabilities as the top priority but may also remediate lows as appropriate within the framework of the service.
• The analyst will facilitate vulnerability scanning and remediation of varying vulnerabilities spread across multiple technologies including but not limited to: Windows server and desktop operating systems, Linux Operating systems (limited quantities), printers, network appliances, IOT devices, and 3rd party software applications.
• The Analyst needs a strong background in both desktop and server support (Systems Administration) and have an understanding of vulnerability management and cyber security practices (entry level ok).
• Patch management experience is a plus.
• The analyst will work within a framework driven by SLA's and lowering overall risk (closing both SLA driven and quantity driven vulnerabilities).
• Experience with the following tools preferred, but not mandatory.
