JOB DESCRIPTION - SENIOR VMC PROGRAMMER

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and create

VMC Programs

using

SolidWorks

and

SolidCAM

for precision machining components. Review 2D & 3D drawings to understand machining requirements, tolerances, and specifications. Prepare

CAM toolpaths

, select appropriate cutting tools, and optimize machining cycles for efficiency. Set up, operate, and troubleshoot

Vertical Machining Centers (VMC)

as needed. Perform

machine offsets, tool setting, and program adjustments

to ensure accuracy. Collaborate with the design and production teams to ensure manufacturability and minimize errors. Conduct trial runs, inspect initial components, and modify programs to achieve quality outputs. Ensure proper documentation of programs, setups, and machining processes. Implement

continuous improvements

to reduce cycle time and improve machine productivity. Maintain safety standards and ensure machine upkeep.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong knowledge of

VMC programming and operations

. Expertise in

SolidWorks

(3D modeling & drafting). Hands-on experience with

SolidCAM

for toolpath creation and machining strategies. In-depth understanding of

G & M codes

, machining parameters, and CNC controller functions. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and materials. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Knowledge of cutting tools, tool holders, fixtures, and machining best practices.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical or related field. Experience in high-precision component machining. Knowledge of advanced machining techniques (3+2 or 5-axis, if applicable).
