The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly accomplished and visionary SVP, Engineering to lead our entire engineering organization. This is a critical leadership role responsible for executing our technical strategy, ensuring the scalability and reliability of our platform, fostering a culture of engineering excellence, and driving the efficient delivery of products that support our aggressive growth trajectory.



You will be a key member of the executive leadership team, working closely with the CEO, CTO, CPO, and other functional leaders to translate business objectives and the overarching technical vision into a robust and agile engineering roadmap and execution plan.

What You'll Do

Engineering Strategy & Execution:

Translate the long-term technical vision and product roadmap into actionable engineering strategies and delivery plans. Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality, on-time delivery of product features and platform enhancements. Drive the execution of strategic technical initiatives, ensuring that our offerings are ahead of the market and compete well with cutting edge features and functionalities. Champion the adoption of best practices in software engineering, including Vibe coding, coding standards, architectural patterns, testing, deployment, and operational excellence (DevOps, SRE).

Platform Scalability & Reliability:

Own the operational stability, performance, and security of Exotel's platform. Implement robust processes and systems for monitoring, incident management, and continuous improvement to ensure exceptional uptime and reliability. Drive architectural evolution and re-platforming efforts necessary to support future scale and product innovation, in partnership with the CTO and architecture leads. Ensure the smooth integration and scalable operation of our newer machine learning components within our products, such as those powering our conversational AI solutions.

Team Building & Organizational Development:

Lead, mentor, and inspire a large and growing team of engineers, fostering a culture of AI adoption, high performance, continuous learning, and psychological safety. Attract, hire, and retain top-tier engineering talent, building diverse and inclusive teams. Develop and implement effective organisational structures, career paths, and development programs that empower engineers and leaders, ensuring the organisation is well-equipped to execute the technical vision.

Cross-Functional Partnership & Alignment:

Collaborate intensely with the CTO to align on the overarching technical strategy and future-state architecture. Partner closely with Product Management to define and deliver product roadmaps, prioritize initiatives, and ensure seamless execution of product vision, including the integration of AI-powered capabilities into new and existing offerings. Work with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to understand market needs and customer challenges, and deliver high-impact solutions. Manage engineering budgets, resources, and external vendor relationships effectively.

What You'll Bring

18+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role (VP/SVP Engineering) managing large-scale, complex engineering organizations (200+ engineers). Proven track record in a high-growth B2B SaaS environment, ideally within communications, cloud infrastructure, or similar high-transactional platforms. Deep technical expertise across modern software architectures, cloud-native development (AWS/Azure/GCP), microservices, distributed systems, and data engineering. Telephony & Telco expertise is a bonus. Demonstrated experience in leading teams that operationalize and scale intelligent features or machine learning components within product offerings. Strong understanding of Enterprise product development processes and a demonstrated ability to partner effectively with Product Management. Exceptional leadership skills with a proven ability to attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent, and build high-performing teams. Operational excellence: Experience in building and managing highly reliable, scalable, and secure systems with a relentless focus on uptime and performance. Strong communication skills: Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences (technical and non-technical, internal and external). Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
