A successful candidate for our designer positions area will

Demonstrate advanced knowledge of user flows, product features, and underlying technologies across teams and tracks - demonstrates a working understanding of the larger user and business context of their product area. Demonstrate advanced understanding and application of user-centered design concepts, methods, tools and techniques to enable and advance quality design and outcomes. Create high-quality well-researched and data informed design assets and solutions at high volume and velocity. Be responsible for overall product design quality in their area - proactively identifies, fixes critical issues and bugs across track teams. Complete complex objectives autonomously, involving everyone necessary; proactively generating new product ideas, as well as devising tests and/or processes to evaluate alternatives and recommend solutions. Demonstrate advanced understanding of Booking.com's brand, design and accessibility standards and systems and ensure they are adhered to in their area of business. Proactively partner with their peers, leads, or others in the tech and product organizations to drive and execute on a broader level strategy to improve the product and the community around them. Advance team and design community understanding of user-centered design concepts, methods and techniques; facilitate team ideation sessions, solution discovery and brainstorming relevant for design topics. Make use of Booking.com data tools like Experimentation Tool and Analytics and enable usage and definition of qualitative research topics to deliver solutions accountable to business metrics. Actively participate in recruiting and initiatives to grow and strengthen the craft community. Clearly communicates design approaches and solutions throughout the development lifecycle across multiple teams and disciplines to achieve project objectives, to proactively build productive relationships, and to collaborate to gain cooperation for projects and initiatives within own function. Mentor and coach designers within a track; improves others productivity within a track and on other teams where possible.

Required skills and experience

Five to eight years of experience designing production-level, high-quality assets for web products and native mobile apps; Advanced knowledge of web, native apps (Android and iOS) UI design methods, utilization of accessibility practices and design systems, and related the principles, concepts, and theories of product design; Demonstrates advanced knowledge of user flows, product features, and underlying technologies across teams and tracks - demonstrates a working understanding of the larger user and business context of their product area. Creates high-quality well-researched and data informed design assets and solutions at higher volume and velocity than core level designers. Informing design approach and solutions based on customer insights garnered from quantitative and qualitative data and on business priorities A successful track record of designing and shipping projects as evidenced in resume and portfolio. Demonstrates advanced understanding and application of user-centered design concepts, methods, tools and techniques to enable and advance quality design and outcomes. Experience collaborating with and influencing UX Writing, UX Research, Product Management, Engineering, Data and Brand teams Expertise in core design tools, such as Figma, and familiarity with corporate collaboration and communication tools and software; Strong communication, influence, presentation, and negotiation skills

Preferred skills and experience

Large corporate software product and design development. Specialized skills such as visual design, information architecture, animation, systems design, brand implementation. Experience working on a product spanning across multiple cultures / languages. Thriving in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary, collaborative environment. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of the principles, concepts, and theories of product design and related areas including copywriting and research. Bachelor's or Master's Degree, but may be substituted with work experience.
