Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented

Senior Testing Engineer

to lead and perform routine and type testing of power and distribution transformers as per relevant IEC, ANSI, IS, or other applicable standards. The candidate will ensure compliance with technical specifications and quality requirements, assist in root cause analysis, and support continuous improvement in the testing process.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine, type, and special tests on power and distribution transformers up to [ kV/MVA] as per international and national standards (e.g., IEC 60076, IS 2026). Lead and supervise testing activities including insulation resistance, turns ratio, winding resistance, impedance voltage, load/no-load loss, lightning impulse, and temperature rise tests. Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of testing instruments and equipment. Review test plans, procedures, and customer specifications to prepare test setups and documentation. Monitor test results, identify deviations, and generate detailed test reports for internal records and customer submission. Coordinate with design, production, and quality teams to resolve non-conformances and technical issues. Provide technical support during factory acceptance tests (FAT) and customer inspections. Lead investigations for test failures and assist in corrective and preventive actions. Support development and optimization of testing methods and digitalization initiatives. Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians in testing processes and safety standards.

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Master's Degree (preferred but not mandatory).

Experience:

Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience in transformer testing. Hands-on experience with high-voltage testing equipment and transformer diagnostics.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of transformer operation, construction, and testing standards. Proficient in electrical measurement tools, relay coordination, and test software. Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 17025, and safety standards. Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills. Team leadership and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Certifications:

Certified High Voltage Test Engineer (if applicable) ISO/IEC 17025 Internal Auditor Training Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH)

Pay: ?50,000.00 - ?80,000.00 per month
