Bangalore Embedded Electronic Systems department is a division of Global Core EES at Volvo Construction Equipment. We design the Software solutions of the current and future machines with the purpose of making them more efficient and environmentally friendly.

Senior Test Systems Design Engineer Role Description!

As the Senior Test Systems Design Engineer, you will be the responsible for design, development & maintenance of Software Test Systems(Test Infrastructure/ HiL Rigs & Test setups) in EES Department to meet Product, Platform & architectural system verification requirements. Also participate on developing Test Infrastructure to meet the Verification strategies.. You would make significant contribution to SW Verification group in EES joining a team of highly skilled and well organized software verification and Development team located in India and at times also located in other Technology sites within Volvo CE..
You will also support and guide Test system engineers in the group.

The position holder will report to Head of EES Software Verification BLR

Main Tasks/ Responsibilities / Authorities :

• Define strategies, architecture and concepts for HIL rigs & Test Systems globally
• Specify, design and maintain SW Verification HIL rigs & Test Systems
• Support users of HIL rigs & Test Systems including documentation/instructions
• Be part of the Global HIL Rig community and actively contribute to the global initiatives and collaborate across sites
• Develop and maintain HIL rig / Test Systems/ SW framework long term roadmap
• Evaluate and benchmark SW verification concepts
• Establish HIL rig specification
• Design of HIL rig/ Test Systems (normally for update or re-build)
• Design of SW laboratory environment
• Maintenance of HIL rigs and SW laboratory environment
• Design and maintain HIL rig SW framework
• Support users of HIL rigs/ Test Systems
• Train Test System Developers working with HIL rigs, including material/documentation
• Ensure calibration of measurement devices, HIL rigs and Test Systems.
• Propose and support in investments activities for SW lab
• Propose updates/changes of long term roadmap of test systems
• Propose updates/changes of HIL rigs and SW framework
• Support continuous improvement activities in the Test System area

Required Qualification, Skills & Experience:

• 7 to 10 years of experience in NI based HiL rig development.
• Bachelor/Master degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (BE/B.Tech/M.Tech)
• Expert in LabVIEW programming / LabVIEW TestStand
• Good knowledge of creating and maintaining hardware test architecture
• Hands on and in depth experience on HiL test rigs environments.
• LabVIEW certifications.
• Strong knowledge on Software / Hardware concepts, Control System & testing
• Good written & verbal communication skills

Additional Important Requirements :

• Supportive and collaborative attitude
• Experience working with global teams desirable.
• Good knowledge of the Embedded Software and applications of software platforms in Volvo CE products.
• Good analytical and problem solving skills.

Flexibility to travel overseas as needed.
