Job Description

Job Overview: The Telecom Engineer applies their conceptual knowledge of Telecommunications and with a moderate level of guidance and direction from colleagues and leadership, is responsible for solving a range of straightforward Telecommunications problems. They will be responsible for analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures, as well as building knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. The Telecom Engineer understands key business drivers and applies this knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations through analysis of possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents.



Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Prepare the development of key project deliverables, including (but not limited to) the following:
  • Philosophies
  • Specifications
  • System diagrams
  • Load lists
  • Equipment arrangements
  • Coordination of installation details
  • Cable list and schedules
• Participate in project reviews, including (but not limited to) the following:
  • CCTV Model Reviews
• Development and support of vendor packages, including (but not limited to) the following:
  • Create, issue, and manage requisition packages for the telecommunications contractor
  • Perform and coordinate the review of supplier documents for telecommunications and interface packages
• Site support, including (but not limited to) the following:
  • Provide technical support to construction personnel for telecommunications engineering-related inquiries as needed

Essential Qualifications and Education:

• Bachelor\'s degree in electrical engineering or Transportation Engineering is preferred
• Typically, 2 to 6 years of telecommunications engineering experience
• Working knowledge of the content and application of standards, codes, and guidelines, including ISA, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ANSI, and EIA/TIA
• Advanced experience with MS Office Suite including Excel and Word
• Prefer experience at the site during construction and commissioning
