Job Description

To be part of the design team within WSP Energy Transition team, preparing drawings with calculations, technical design, layout design using available CAD/CAE methods and to complete work within the programme and allotted hours.


To take designer role on Energy projects.


Ensuring a co-ordinated approach to delivering engineering design quality, technical excellence and innovative design for feasibility studies, concept and scheme designs, detailed design and construction support phase of projects



Preparation of drawings mainly using CAD systems + 3D modelling of pipework, equipment, buildings, process modules, tanks and pressure vessels, pipe supports, electrical and control routing.
+ Isometric generation
+ PFD's, P&ID's, and briefing drawings
Preparation of design calculations Assist with preparation of datasheets, specifications, material take-offs and schedules Checking of drawings and designs Inter-discipline co-ordination and clash checks (manually & 3D model) Implement company quality procedures and client design standards Work as designer on selected projects, with responsibility for coordinating and supervising other designers and design activities within a project task force Manage development of CAD systems including 3D modelling and intelligent P&ID systems To ensure that safety issues are fully considered within projects
