BlackLine is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Tax Accountant to join our dynamic Finance & Accounting team. The successful candidate will mainly be responsible for all aspects of our EMEA tax reporting and statutory compliance, ensuring adherence to local tax laws and regulations. The role requires a deep understanding of statutory reporting, corporate taxation, VAT, and other applicable taxes and compliance matters in the EMEA region. The senior tax accountant is part of the global international tax accounting team and tasks can extend beyond the EMEA region, such as support to the US GAAP tax provisioning or support with entities based in the APAC region.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax Compliance:

+ - Collaborate with external service providers on the preparation of the corporate income tax returns and prepare periodic CIT payments.
- Manage all VAT related compliance, including monthly account reconciliations, periodic returns, payment requests and refund applications.
- Respond to tax notices, demands, and inquiries from tax authorities, and collaborate with the international tax team in managing all tax controversy matters.
- Responsible for tax compliance Procure To Pay and Order To Cash process.
- Validate use of correct tax codes by AR and AP departments. Validate VAT compliance of invoices. Manage e-invoicing portals. + Ensure PO compliance.

US GAAP, Statutory financials & Non-tax compliance:

+ - Manage and provide support for the annual statutory financial statements compilation and statutory audits.
+ Liaise with external auditors to ensure an effective and efficient audit and understand all issues.
+ Prepare Statutory tax account reconciliations.
+ - Conduct periodic balance sheet and account reconciliation reviews.
- Prepare intercompany journals in line with BlackLine's transfer pricing policy.

Advisory and Support:

+ - Collaborate with the international tax team, along with external tax advisors and consultants on complex tax matters including transfer pricing analyses, Company mergers & acquisitions and other business transactions.
- Conduct tax research and analysis to support decision-making and policy formulation.
- Participate in tax-related projects and initiatives.
- Implement tax "best practices" for tax automation (tax provision and tax compliance to minimize reliance upon outside service providers).
- Collaborate with Company Secretary, Corporate legal team, and other advisors with respect to general corporate secretarial matters.


What You'll Bring::

Qualifications:

Education:

+ - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field.

Master's degree in Taxation is preferred.

Experience:

+ - A minimum of 5 years, tax-based experience with an internationally oriented accounting firm or company is required.
- Extensive experience with tax laws, including corporate income tax, VAT, and other indirect taxes. Can train/learn VAT/IDT (Big4 companies/their clients) Focus on one area and used to international env.
Local GAAP and US GAAP tax provisioning experience preferred.

Daily time allocation:

+ - VAT and indirect tax: 25%
