What will you contribute?
Reporting to Senior Manager, Enterprise Systems, the Systems Engineer will possess hands-on experience with administration and customization of Middleware applications support and will be responsible for the maintenance, development, and operations of Middleware application support for all line of business products. The candidate should be experienced in working in a diverse development environment supporting an enterprise application and will provide strategy and technical insight in designing and supporting Middleware application support for all business products and applications while aligning to Middleware software best practices. The role will also be responsible for researching, planning, coordinating & implementing application solutions for conceptual design requirements.
Responsibilities & Deliverables:
Your deliverables as a systems engineer will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Receives specifications from the IT department and delivers a product/release that meets the needs presented. Creates Requirements Definitions, and Technical Specifications Documentation
Ensure smooth and top-quality delivery of projects in collaboration with project manager and the project team.
Participate in the full software development life cycle: Analysis, Design, Coding, Testing, Training, and Operational Support.
Collaborates with and supports the Live Operations, Infrastructure Engineering and Application Support teams during system design, development and implementation phases providing advice for interfacing monitoring services.
Utilizes best practices for development, conducts thorough testing, analysis, and certification of changes to the system. Ensures all assigned project tasks required for the implementation of the system are completed on schedule.
Updates & maintains a comprehensive testing protocol for the system instance upgrades with the purpose of certifying all applications for use after the upgrade completes.
Logs technical support incidents, problems and requests into the system. Monitors incidents assigned to the Administrator. Provides succinct and pertinent updates to incidents indicating acted upon resolution and communication to user. Participates in Problems and Knowledge initiatives and other process improvements.
Escalates performance issues, unresolvable incidents and service interruptions to technical support. Creates and updates incident records in the system's tracking system.
Install, maintain, configure/reconfigure, and support hosted system instances, production and non-production
Analyze and fully understand user requirements and current procedures in order to improve system capabilities, automate process workflows and address scheduling limitations throughout the development and delivery of the system roadmap
Required Experience:
5 + years total IT experience
Experience with the standard Unix/Linux and Windows environment and interfaces.
Experience with AMQ/IBM MQ
Proficient with Apache, Weblogic/Jboss, Tomcat
Experience with IBM Sterling Connect Direct is a plus
Experience with cloud infrastructure is a plus
Scripting using ant, perl, shell, cmd, Powershell is a plus
Familiarity with communication protocols such as FTP, SSH, and SSL.
SSL Public, Private key certificate knowledge, PGP, Regular expressions are plus.
Familiarity with the Fed, TCH, SWIFT Network, SNL and HSMs are a plus
Strong written and oral communication skills.
