TITLE: Senior Systems Analyst - JDA (Red Prairie) WMS

LOCATION:

DEPARTMENT: Information Systems

REPORTS TO: Applications Lead

JOB SUMMARY:

The JDA (Red Prairie) WMS Sr. Systems Analyst is responsible for the high level configuration, design and integration of JDA WMS system with both material handling and ERP systems. Effectively partners with project managers, application developers and business users in defining business processes and writing functional specifications to meet the needs of the business. Demonstrates passion for strengthening and enhancing business results via software solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

System Configuration, Design, Validation and Implementation

• Transforms requirements into software design and/or configuration of JDA WMS, Material Handling, and ERP software

• Documents functional capabilities of JDA WMS and Material Handling software and integrations of JDA WMS and Material Handling software to other Polaris systems

• Leads in producing deliverables including configuration/tailoring documents; integrations; and user mock-ups

• Documents functional and integration design specifications for software developers/programmers

• Leads group to resolve questions and issues during configuration and development cycles

• Defines testing cases and executes test scripts to ensure that systems meet the needs of the business

• Performs system testing and leads user acceptance testing cycle

• Executes implementation tasks and ensures successful go-live

Software Development and Design

• Lead the technical design and implementation activities for projects by partnering with other analysts and developers
• Understand functional designs and create technical design specifications including database layouts; application modules; application integrations, and user interface mock-ups
• Collaborate with other systems analysis and project managers to get the technical design reviewed
• Transforms software design into application code, system configuration, custom work flows and processes in accordance to Polaris standards
• Write test scenarios, perform unit testing, system testing and document the results
• Collaborate with other Systems Analysts/programmer analysts and developers to implement the project

Gathering Requirements and Analysis

• Analyzes current and future state business processes

• Evaluates alternatives and defines a recommended system approach

• Produce deliverables including business process flows; use cases; and storyboards

• Facilitates project and administrative meetings

• Evaluates and participates in purchased software selection process

• Ensures compliance with SOX

System and User Support

• Provides day-to-day application support to business users

• Troubleshoots production problems and works to fix issues

• Understands technology and systems infrastructure

• Trains users on system processes and changes

• Performs other duties as assigned that support overall objective of the position

Code and Process Review

• Review peers finished configuration & code for adherence to standards
• Review configuration & code for ease of understanding and maintainability
• Review configuration & code and process with project teams to assist in the understanding and flow
• Perform configuration & code promotion for monthly installs

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Software Design, Computer Information Systems or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience with JDA WMS and minimum of 3 years of experience in an analyst role performing system analysis and writing functional specifications

• Development experience with JDA (RedPrairie) including:

• Configuration of WMS package
• JDA Integrator
• JDA Views, Jasper Reporting, and Workflows
• MOCA, DDA, RF devices, and Label & Barcode Printing
• Java, C++, and C#

• Proven experience and success in integrating JDA WMS software with material handling and ERP applications
• Skilled in being a strong team player, i.e.; flexible, collegial, and enthusiastic
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment with multiple project assignments
• Strong written and verbal communication. Ability to effectively communicate with non-technical audience.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
• Excellent analytical and creative problem solving skills

• Experience with JDA Integrator, Views, Jasper Reporting, and Workflows

• Knowledge of MOCA, DDA, RF devices, and Label & Barcode Printing

• Experienced with ERP, manufacturing, and logistics business processes

• Experienced with Material Handling Systems (Dematic)

• Experience with Windows SQL Server platforms

• Able to read and understand Java, C++, and C# languages, coding standards and practices

• Experience with automated testing software for regression and volume testing (Tryon Cycle)

• Other software and systems experience (Dynamics AX, Dynamics CRM, AS/400 iSeries IBMi, Logistyx / Agile)

• Solid understanding of ETL design using ETL tools to extract data from heterogeneous data sources
