About you and this role
Dow Polyurethanes (PU) has an opening for a Senior Supply Chain Scheduling Specialist located in Mumbai, India. The purpose of this job is to manage all and decide supply across multiple sites and plants within across the Dow Polyurethanes (PU) businesses. This role includes balancing supply and demand over the tactical planning horizon, to achieve optimized product availability and ensuring our supply chain terminal and warehouse network is balanced and capable of meeting customer orders.

Decides what, when and where to supply for multiple production sites or multiple plants at one site, within a single business or multiple smaller businesses. Balances supply and demand over the operational horizon, to achieve optimum product availability, asset utilization and supply chain efficiencies. Requires broadened conceptual and working knowledge and experience in job discipline to perform a range of work assignments. Uses prescribed guidelines or policies in analyzing situations and receives a moderate level of guidance and direction. Provides informal guidance to new team members. Analyzes possible solutions using technical experience, judgment and precedents to solve problems.

In this role, you will require understanding of key business drivers for your discipline and function. You will need to be able to expand conceptual and working knowledge related to your discipline or functional area. You are expected to provide informal guidance to new team members and be able to explain complex information to others.

It is your responsibility to use technical experience, established practices, and personal judgement to analyze and resolve straightforward problems. Your performance impacts the quality of your own work and your team\xe2\x80\x99s work and requires that you work within established guidelines and policies.

Responsibilities
  • Generates a time-phased supply schedule to fulfill business requirements in the short-term, while considering plant wide constraints, and meeting inventory and customer service targets
  • Determines and/or executes the most effective regional or global sourcing rules.
  • Implements external manufacturing agreements or execute agreements already in place
  • Owns and operates site or regional planning models (provides functional expertise for model operation; assures most efficient use of information technology)
  • Serves as a local site coordinator/planner for integration of internal demand, utilities or environmental operations at a particular location
  • Routinely checks and tracks inventory quantity, slow-moving or other inventory statuses and ensure that inventory volumes meet the plan
  • Identifies, prioritizes and addresses supply issues (e.g. short-term capacity constraints, product shortage, emergency customer order received, uncovered production requirement, etc.)
  • Leads collaboration with customer service, manufacturing, logistics, third-party service providers and business partners to meet business obligations in case of unplanned events
  • Ensures proper maintenance of production parameters (material masters, work centers, routings) to ensure effective planning
  • Follows best practices, procedures and governance over master data
  • Supports global supply chain initiatives by interfacing with other supply chain personnel in the business and shared services
  • Maintains strong linkages with Demand Manager and ensures full integration with Finance and Accounting.
  • Owns supply-demand balances for assigned desk, drives resolution of strategic gaps and significant capacity challenges and develops sourcing strategies.
  • Resolves issues or exceptions outside the business rules/boundaries and intervenes when needed to address performance gaps.
  • Assesses short-term feasibility requests from all countries (where necessary).
  • Maintains and/or coordinates maintenance of planning parameters in accordance with master data governance.
  • Drives continuous improvement by periodically reviewing and providing recommendations to enhance the distribution network, and by ensuring current manufacturing strategies are appropriate.
  • Manage daily terminal and warehouse balances to ensure inventory and orders are appropriately filled.
  • Monitor performance versus plan and work across functions to resolve issues.
  • Effectively generate a feasible supply plan to meet customer demand at all outplants utilizing OMP planning tools.
  • Provide input to and participate as required in S&OP process for upstream and downstream businesses.
  • Engage cross-functional efforts to deliver performance improvement including product teams, CSR\xe2\x80\x99s and supply chain modal logistics such as road, rail, bulk marine and MPC.
  • Support improvement initiatives to deliver improved performance and lowest cost to serve.
  • When problems arise, drive issue resolution through use of Dow tools such as RPM, QN and MOC.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or other Sciences.
  • 3-4 years Supply chain experience or Manufacturing environment.


Preferred Skills
  • Enterprise Resource Planning Systems experience - preferably SAP
  • Digital Planning System experience - OMP, APO etc
  • APICS Certification is preferred.
  • Supply chain management skills, interpersonal effectiveness, understanding customer needs, teamwork, taking initiative, problem solving skills, value creation, technical proficiency in use of computer applications, analytical skills and project management skills and demonstrate logical thinking.
