Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add an Senior Subject Matter Expert - Legal located in GBS Chennai.
What a typical day looks like:

• Provide legal advisory and support to Flex India Leadership on general corporate matters and strategic transactions.
• Attend court hearings and quasi-judicial proceedings before authorities, along with external counsel, and assist in case preparation and representation.
• Assist Leadership to anticipate and manage regulatory risks and ensure proactive legal compliance across sites (factories and ITeS offices).
• Provide efficient transactional support to business and operational teams.
• Manage litigations by coordinating with external counsels and controlling costs.
• Provide advisory support on labour and employment-related issues to all sites.
• Draft legal opinions and advise on complex employment and regulatory matters.
• Brief and coordinate with senior counsels for litigation and dispute resolution.
• Provide regulatory support and advisory across functions.
• Support the Corporate Governance team on financial transactions, M&A, and restructuring.
• Enforce compliance with Flex's global guidelines and procedures.
• Draft, review, and negotiate supply chain-related contracts and monitor supply chain relationships to minimize risk of business disruption or dispute.
• Coordinate training initiatives and develop knowledge manuals.
• Keep informed of current laws, regulations, and developments.
• Travel to factories and Flex sites on a weekly basis as part of regular compliance and advisory engagements.
• Partner with cross-functional teams (HR, EHS, Finance, Compliance, GA) to align business operations with legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Contribute to policy creation, digitization of legal processes, and maintenance of contract and compliance databases.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

• Typically requires a bachelor's degree in paralegal studies or related field or equivalent experience and training.
• 1-2 years of experience handling labour matters, advising corporates on employment issues, managing employment litigations, briefing senior counsel, and drafting legal opinions.
• Labour laws advisory on PF, gratuity, employment disputes and trade unions.
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating supply chain contracts.
• High-volume litigation management.
• Managing regulatory compliance, including liaison with government agencies.
• Real estate property management, including due diligence.
• Working knowledge of regulatory requirements of SEZs and STPIs.
• Strong written and oral communication.
• Proficiency in Tamil Language is preferred.
