Job Description

The Senior Steward is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of the stewarding team to ensure the kitchen and service areas are clean, organized, and well-maintained. The role involves maintaining hygiene standards, managing inventory of cleaning supplies, and supporting smooth kitchen and restaurant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise daily stewarding operations and assign duties to stewards. Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen utensils, equipment, and work areas as per hygiene standards. Oversee proper garbage disposal and waste management. Monitor the handling, storage, and distribution of kitchen equipment and supplies. Train and guide new stewards on cleaning procedures, safety practices, and hygiene standards. Coordinate with the Chef and F&B team to ensure timely support during peak operations. Report any maintenance issues or equipment damages promptly. Support in setting up and cleaning up during banquets, functions, or special events.

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of experience in kitchen stewarding, preferably in a hotel or restaurant. Strong knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment handling, and hygiene standards. Leadership and team management skills. Basic communication and coordination abilities. Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Flexible to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays.
