Key responsibilitiesCleaning and sanitation
Wash and store dishes, glassware, and utensils.
Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, dining, and event areas.
Dispose of waste properly and efficiently.
Ensure all equipment is clean and in good working order.
Customer service and front-of-house support
Set tables and arrange place settings.
Clear empty plates and glasses from tables.
Refill water glasses and assist guests as needed.
Maintain clean and sanitized menus.
Kitchen and inventory support
Stock serving stations with necessary items like cutlery and napkins.
Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation or unloading stock.
Track and manage inventory of cleaning supplies and other equipment.
Other duties
Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Perform basic administrative tasks, such as answering phones or taking reservations, depending on the workplace.
For senior stewards, supervise and train other staff members.
For data stewards, oversee an organization's data governance, quality, and documentation.
